As Figma’s customer base continues to expand and diversify, and new technological advancements in AI and generative design emerge, the opportunity for AI experience engineering is greater than ever. You’ll collaborate closely with a cutting edge AI Research team and your work will help raise the ceiling of what’s possible for designers and lower the floor of who can design. We are seeking an accomplished and experienced leader who has built scrappy fast paced teams, ideally working on generative AI products, to join our team and lead our AI efforts from inception to implementation. What you’ll do at Figma: Lead and grow a diverse team of engineers building and advancing Figma’s AI capabilities across core products Partner closely with Product, Engineering, AI Research, and Data Science to define strategy and drive a clear roadmap for AI-powered experiences Hire, mentor, and retain exceptional engineering talent, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and thoughtful risk-taking Drive 0→1 innovation by identifying opportunities and applying emerging AI technologies to meaningfully improve the user experience Champion Figma’s commitment to diversity and inclusion by actively contributing to equitable hiring practices, team development, and cross-company initiatives. We'd love to hear from you if you have: 3+ years of experience hiring, leading, and developing high-performing engineering teams Proven experience building and scaling AI-powered product capabilities, ideally in fast-paced, high-growth environments Demonstrated track record of driving 0→1 product development, with the ability to translate ambiguous ideas into impactful, production-ready features Strong ability to build and operate fast-moving teams that balance innovation with execution Genuine curiosity and enthusiasm for emerging AI technologies and their application to user-facing products While not required, it’s an added plus if you also have: Knowledge and experie
